Glogster is a fantasy website. This is my first time to use it to post my pictures and radio. Bonny and Jay is my partner, and they are very nice. We go out to get some information about Pop culture. We go to the Millennium Park to take some pictures. It is a famous spot in Chicago. Lot tourists go there and see the big bean. The picture shows that people are skating near the bean in winter. This place shows us the pop culture in Chicago winter. We take some pictures for the big bean also, and have an interview with a person. He shares some ideas with us. Through his interview, I know that people are prefer to focus on pop culture, because they think pop culture is more easier to understand and it is more interesting. High culture sounds kind of old fashion culture for young people. However, people think high culture is a great culture, so we need to keep it. You can see another picture in our glogster that there are different countries people in the picture. We are in the same class, but we come from different countries. It is kind of culture diversity in U.S. In a word, pop culture exists everywhere.

Food

In the article “Custom-Made”, I got something interesting that the delivery system of Domino’s Pizza Inc succeeds all over the word because of its flexible system. People from all over the world have different habits and flavors because they have different cultures. To heed the different flavor in different place, the company developed some new flavor to satisfy the local people. I have a deep impression in this article because it shows us the power of culture diversity. McDonald’s corporation is very popular in China, and the most important reason is that it catches people’s flavors in China. It tastes a little bit different from America. Through the article, I realize that culture identity is very essential for an international company. In other words, it is very important in our lives.

TV

“The Voice of China” is a very popular TV show in China. It is a singing competition, and it also has four adjudicators. The adjudicators are back to the competitors and choose them by listening to their voice. They can’t see the competitors’ face while competitor is singing. The TV show is popular because it is fair for the competitor who doesn’t have a good body and a pretty face. In this show, voice is everything. I like the show, because the competitors always have some special experiences to share with the audience. No matter what, they keep singing. In other words, they never give up their dreams. Even though I am not good at singing, the competitors in this show give me a positive energy to insist my ambition.

Technology

As a young people, mobile phone is the most essential tools for me. I can’t live without it. Once I forget to bring my phone, I might feel completely overwhelmed and anxious. As the development in science and technology, more and more people begin to use mobile telephone. It is very convenient to contact friends and families by using the mobile phone. What’s more, the smart phone is not only used as a telephone, but also can be sued for MP3, movie player, camera, and even GPS. Technology is very important in our lives because we use it every day. We watch drama on the TV, and we do research through the internet. We also drive to a new place with the GPS direction. Science and technology permeate every aspect in our lives.

Movies

“The curious case of Benjamin button” is a story about Benjamin who has to see the people he cares die before he does. Benjamin started his life with a strange body which is like an eighty-year old man’s body. His mother died soon after the difficult labor, and his father abandoned him in front of the old people’s home. However, Queenie, the kind lady, took care of him as if he was her own child in the old people’s home. When he was eleven years old, he met Daisy who is the most important person in his life. Daisy treated Benjamin as her peers even though he looked like older than he was. He left the house went to sea when he was seventeen years old and met Elizabeth Abbot during sea travel. Several years later, he met Daisy again and had a daughter and family with her. Benjamin is a sad person because he can’t love Daisy in his youth.

“The curious case of Benjamin button” is a good movie to tell us what time it is. It not only gives me a different experience, but also makes me realize that it is a happy thing that we have our golden age at the right time. In this movie, I realized that I can never catch the tail of time. The only thing I can do is not be a bird that can’t fly. Otherwise, I should try my best to live thoroughly each day. I can’t change time, so change the attitude I have. All of us are going to the ending of lives; no matter you grow up younger or older. However, youth can’t last, so just enjoy every second you have right now.

Music

“Start Fighting” is my favorite song. It is singing about what Chinese should do for the accusations of Asian invasion. We should take us responsibilities to tell the people all over the world that developing our countries are only supposed to get the better lives for people. We hope that people can have positive attitudes to treat the speed of developing for the Asian countries. Leehom Wang is the singer who sings this song. He is my favorite singer. This song is a chicked-out style which is R&B with classical elements. Leehom Wang is the first singer to play this style in a song. He always gives us surprise in his music. Chicked-out style is my favorite music genre because it is a new style to show what young people think about. I like to listen to a popular song that mixes the classical instrument. It always gives us a different and strong feeling and when we listen to this style of music.

Reading

 “The Only Way to Have a Cow” by Bill McKibben does a great job of explaining how humans consume too much meat and how it’s hurting our environment. He states that when cows are fed grass instead of the greenhouse producing corn, the animals tend to have more omegas 3 in their meat, a chemical which is usually only found in fish and in nuts. I never consider that eating meat has a bad effect on our atmosphere. From this readingt, I realize that we are hurting our environment. In other words, we are hurting ourselves. Sometimes, we might miss the course that makes the environment worse. The food factory only focuses on how much the money they can be able to earn. After reading this article, I want to be a vegan because that would be better for our environment. We should protect our environment as protect ourselves.
